Liver Disease Treatment for Patients with Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, and Other Chronic Liver Conditions

Liver Disease Treatment

Liver disease treatment is crucial for people who have hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, or other similar conditions. Although existing liver damage typically cannot be reversed, treatment can often help reduce future damage. This, in turn, helps preserve the patient’s remaining organ function while addressing fatigue, nausea, and other symptoms.

At Florida Medical Clinic, we provide individualized liver disease treatment for conditions such as:

  • Cirrhosis of the liver
  • Viral hepatitis
  • Alcoholic hepatitis
  • Autoimmune hepatitis
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Acetaminophen-induced acute liver failure
  • Sarcoidosis
  • Polycystic liver disease
  • Liver cancer
  • Hepatic encephalopathy
  • Portal hypertension

After reviewing a patient’s medical history, symptoms, bloodwork, and diagnostic test results, our physicians will design a tailored treatment plan. Depending on the specific type and stage of liver disease that a patient has, this might include antibiotics, beta-blocking medications, lifestyle changes, dietary changes, and, in some cases, dialysis or surgery. For patients with very serious liver disease, a transplant may be necessary. If a patient develops acute or chronic liver failure, our physicians can refer the patient to a liver transplant center to begin the evaluation process for transplantation.

When it comes to liver disease treatment, it’s common for a patient’s needs to change over time. At Florida Medical Clinic, each patient’s progress is tracked in a convenient electronic medical record. This allows our physicians to easily look back at which treatments have been used and the results they have produced, and then use this information to determine the next appropriate steps. We strive to develop long-term relationships with each of our patients, helping them properly manage their chronic conditions, such as liver disease, in a way that enables them to live healthy and active lives.
