Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy can be used for several key orthopedic procedures. Some of these procedures are purely investigative, performed to diagnose a condition or determine the level of damage to a joint. Other procedures are intended to address an issue such as a herniated disc. The primary benefit is that arthroscopic surgery requires only a small incision; as a result, the recovery time for an orthopedic arthroscopy is often shorter than it is for an open operation. Additionally, arthroscopic procedures are usually performed on an outpatient basis.
