Sumna began her nursing career in 2011 when she first started working as a certified nursing assistant at an assisted living facility in 2011. She then obtained her licensed practical nursing license and practiced in memory care, hospice and home health. Once she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2016, she went on to pursue acute care medicine in units such as med/surg, psych and neuro progressive care unit. Sumna completed her masters of science in nursing, concentrating in family nurse practitioner in 2022 from University of South Florida.
Sumna has a passion for neurology, psychiatry and geriatrics as all of these specialties provide an individualized and holistic treatment plan working closely with the patients and their families to be able to prevent illness and maintain their health.
In her free time, Sumna enjoys traveling. She has visited 24 countries (and still counting!). She also enjoys dancing and has been dancing Indian classical dance since she was 7 years old. And she loves spending time with her family and her fur baby.
