"Anxiety for things I have been dealing with for 10 years has become controlled."

It’s amazing what time can do. I think of this almost every day now after 10 years of dealing with anxiety. I sometimes question why I didn’t do something sooner, always telling myself that I had the power to deal with my issues on my own. Early in the stages that was true, but as my dealings and issues got more complex, it took a professional to help me. I began having panic attacks when I was in college and this, morphed with mild claustrophobia, convinced me that I had something wrong with my body. Every tinge or mild pain I had led me to this conclusion as well. After receiving physicals sometimes twice per year and a constant reassurance that there was nothing wrong with my body, I managed to give myself some relief. This, however, was always only temporary. My feelings of anxiety grew from different stimulus from driving by myself (worried that something might happen to me) to stepping foot in an elevator (sometimes triggering panic). Starting in the fall of 2011, I began to regress after extensive traveling with my company for the year and all of the old feelings of anxiety began popping up, and doing so more frequently. I became depressed thinking I would never be able to control this problem. I look back today, almost 11 months after visiting Dr Trivedi for the first time, and realize that I made a decision that has given me new life. I was always the strong willed person that could control my problems head on but this was different. I was always putting a new layer of comfort over my old anxiety and never truly fixing it. When this all collapsed on me was when I decided enough was enough. Since then, with the help of Dr Trivedi’s methods for dealing with anxiety, and medication, I have challenged these discomfort zones and succeeded. I have instilled a level of confidence that brings a great deal of happiness to me. Anxiety for things I have been dealing with for 10 years has become controlled. "From our first meeting, I understood more about my illness than I ever had. "

Today, while getting ready for the day I saw a different me looking back in the mirror! I never had hope or faith that things would ever change for me. I have been suffering with panic/anxiety/depression for 30 years. I have tried many medications, doctors and therapists. Sometimes were harder than others but in my late 40′s I was at my worst, adding severe paranoia and OCD to my list. I was so tired of trying to pretend that I was fine when I was dying inside. All I wanted was relief, all I wanted was out. But, I couldn’t find a way out no matter how I tried. So, I ended up knowing there was only one way out and that was suicide-the last resort. Only for my children and grandchildren I tried again for help. I was recommended to Dr. Trivedi and from our first meeting I understood more about my illness than I ever had.
