About Gabriel J. Somori, MD

Dr. Somori was born in Budapest, Hungary. He and his parents escaped from Russian occupied Budapest in 1956 after the Hungarian Revolution when he was 4 years old. He suffered from polio 5 months before the revolution. His family lived in a refugee camp in Austria until 1959 when they were able to emigrate to the United States.

Dr. Somori grew up in Virginia near Washington, D.C. and attended college and medical school. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia, where he then competed his residency in anesthesiology. He was also fellowship trained in Clinical Instructor Pain Management at the University of Maryland Hospital at Baltimore.

Dr. Somori has been in private practice since 1984, and practicing pain management since 1997.  His personal interests include flying small airplanes and helicopters, boating and enjoying life on his small farm with 3 horses and 3 boxers.
