Alexander Ramirez, MD

Dr. Alexander Ramirez is a board-certified bariatric surgeon. Since 2014, he has been helping Floridians achieve better health through his expertise in bariatric and metabolic surgery. Dr. Ramirez is certified by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery and Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery.

Dr. Ramirez received his medical training at the University of Cartagena in Colombia and completed his general surgery residency at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in Flushing. He pursued research and clinical fellowships in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), Dr. Ramirez has published over 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals on various bariatric and surgical topics. He holds professional memberships with several prestigious organizations, including the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopy Surgeons, the Society of Robotic Surgery, and the Latin American Society of Endoscopy Surgeons.

He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
