Joe Delatorre, CEO

We are facing a new landscape and Florida Medical Clinic remains diligent in our fight against the coronavirus pandemic. We urge you to continue to stay the course and follow the safety measures set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

COVID-19. Protect Yourself and Others.

Florida Medical Clinic takes your health and safety very seriously. As Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases continue to rise, it is important for our patients to understand the measures we have in place to protect you. Florida Medical Clinic’s COVID-19 Response Team has been actively coordinating both internally and externally with local hospitals and the Florida Department of Health to help ensure there is a concerted effort in the communities we serve.

The virus today.

COVID-19 is shown to spread mainly from prolonged person-to-person exposure between those in close contact (within about 6 feet). The virus spreads through respiratory droplets from an infected person.

To help protect yourself, Florida Medical Clinic recommends:

  • Avoid contact with individuals who are sick or have recently been sick.
  • Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Stay home when sick.
  • Always cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
  • Routinely sanitize frequently touched objects, such as a cell phone or wallet.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Apply hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol regularly.
  • Wear a face covering in public, especially if you are unable to stay more then 6-feet away from people around you.
  • Educate your children about good hygiene and make sure they are washing their hands frequently while at school, daycare, and out in the public.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, shortness of breath, fever, sore throat and a recent loss of taste and/or smell. Most people who are infected will experience mild upper respiratory symptoms including fever and cough. Those at greatest risk for serious complications include the elderly population and individuals with underlying chronic health conditions such as diabetes, COPD, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
