About Mark L. Arey, MD

A Central Florida native, born and raised in Winter Haven, Dr. Arey returned to the Sunshine State in 2008 following the completion of his training and has been taking care of patients in North Tampa ever since. In 2018, he created Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Eye Specialists with a mission to provide an optimized patient-centered experience incorporating new and emergent technologies in eye care and ophthalmic surgery.

Along with his wife, pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Shuchi Shah, Dr. Arey is raising his three children with a dual focus on academic and athletic achievement, similar to the way he grew up. Mikaela, Evan, and Daniela each compete in their own right around the state of Florida (and beyond!) in various competitive activities, including soccer, basketball, baseball, karate, tennis, golf, and chess.

Testimonials

"I was very impressed"

I was very impressed with the pre-op staff both at his office and in the pre-op clinic. As I was somewhat apprehensive prior to being wheeled into the operating room, the nurses were very informative and continually assured me that this was a very safe operation especially with Dr. Arey. After the surgery on my first eye I was continuously informed of what I need to do in order to have a full recovery. I was very impressed when Dr. Arey called me back after surgery to see how I was coping and if I had any questions. When I had the second eye surgery on the other eye I was very much relaxed and not the least bit anxious.... Read More +
