About Kathy Temperato, DO
SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE

Dr. Temperato is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician with subspecialty training in Interventional Spine and Sports Musculoskeletal Medicine. She received her doctor of osteopathy from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University Langone Medical Center where she served as chief resident during her final year of training. She continued with a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Temperato prefers a more conservative approach to treatment prior to exploring more invasive options. She strongly believes in a holistic, patient centered approach to pain management care, which allows her to create an effective treatment plan based on each patient’s lifestyle and functional ability. She also enjoys educating her patients about their conditions and ways to manage their symptoms.

Dr. Temperato specializes in neck pain, back pain, and degenerative processes in patients of all activity levels, from athletes to weekend warriors and everyone in between. She also treats cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, facet arthropathy, sacroiliac joint pain, and myofascial pain, and is trained in the use of fluoroscopic guided injections including epidural, trigger point, and hip injections. She also performs medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablations, and sacroiliac joint injections.

Dr. Temperato believes many musculoskeletal pain conditions may be treated with physical therapy, home exercise programs, and lifestyle modifications. When needed, a short course of anti-inflammatory or muscle relaxant medications, in combination with injections, can be included to treat pain. Many of Dr. Temperato’s patients have had great success with this approach to alleviate pain and provide long-term relief.

When not caring for her patients, Dr. Temperato enjoys beach volleyball, running, travel, and spending time with her family. She is fluent in English and Russian.
