Ira Sites, MD

Dr. Ira John Sites III is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with extensive experience in hospital-based and high-risk obstetrical care. He completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and earned his medical degree from the University of Florida.

Dr. Sites has dedicated much of his career to improving systems of care and developing innovative approaches that enhance maternal outcomes. He has served in multiple leadership roles across BayCare and statewide maternal safety committees, focusing on quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

His patient care philosophy is rooted in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for every patient and family. He believes that the trust patients place in their care team is paramount, and nothing should interfere with providing safe and compassionate care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Sites enjoys playing guitar and piano, karaoke, go-kart and car racing, fishing, snowboarding, and restoring classic cars and bikes from the 1980s.
