Dr. Deshanie Govender is a board-certified Family Medicine physician committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. She emphasizes preventive medicine and partners with patients to achieve long-term health through education, lifestyle guidance, and evidence-based treatment. Her practice philosophy centers on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take control of their health.

Dr. Govender earned her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida’s Honors Program.

Passionate about patient education and preventive care, Dr. Govender strives to partner with her patients to improve long-term health and well-being. Beyond medicine, she is the founder of The Period Project Corporation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing period poverty and promoting women’s health, as well as the creator of a mobile app designed to support students with disabilities.
