Dr. Whalen Clark is a board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon. With a patient-centered approach to care, Dr. Clark is committed to delivering personalized surgical treatments for a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions.
Dr. Clark earned his medical degree with research honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He further honed his expertise with two prestigious fellowships: Cancer Biology at Moffitt Cancer Center, and Advanced Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreaticobiliary Surgery.
Recognized as a Tampa Magazine Top Doctor in General Surgery for six consecutive years, Dr. Clark is renowned for his emphasis on open communication and collaborative treatment plans. He also serves as core faculty for an accredited Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship program. He carries the title of Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida (UCF). A respected leader in the field, Dr. Clark has authored numerous publications and presented at national conferences on topics ranging from cancer biology to gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery.
As a recognized da Vinci Epicenter surgeon, Dr. Clark is an expert in robotic surgery, having trained countless surgeons in these advanced techniques.
A fourth-generation Tampa native, Dr. Clark enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife and two children, fishing in the Gulf, and cheering for his favorite football teams. He is also an active supporter of Florida Medical Clinic’s Foundation of Caring, a charitable organization dedicated to improving community health.
