Dr. LaRue was born in Lakeland, Florida and raised in Winter Haven. Although he is a diehard Auburn fan, his roots are firmly planted here in our state. An avid tennis player and boatsman, accomplished gardener, and classical music aficionado, he is often found enjoying the outdoors and tending to his landscape. Married with four children, Dr. LaRue balances his time between church, family and friends.

Hospital Follow-up within 14 days of discharge
The percentage of patients who were seen by the primary care provider within 14 days of a hospital discharge. Patients who see their primary care provider within 2 weeks of their hospitalizaton are less likely to have medication errors an d are less likely to be re-admitted into the hospital.
Percentage of patients 65 years of age and older who have ever received a pneumococcal vaccine. Vaccination is a proven method to prevent the spread of pneumonia.
Breast Cancer Screening
Percentage of female patients 50 to 74 years old who had a mammogram. Early detection is important to prevent the spread of breast cancer.
Hypertension: Blood Pressure Control < 140/90
Percentage of patients 18-85 years of age with with a diagnosis of hypertension whose blood pressure was adequately controlled to less than 140/90 mmHg. Maintaining blood pressure below 140/90 mmHg is known to reduce the risk for heart disease and stroke.
Advanced Care Planning
Percentage of patients aged 65 years and older who have an advance care plan or surrogate decision maker documented in the medical record or documentation in the medical record that an advance care plan was discussed but the patient did not wish or was not able to name a surrogate decision maker or provide an advance care plan.

Colorectal Cancer Screening
Percentage of patients 50-75 years of age who had appropriate screening for colorectal cancer. Early detection is vital to the treatment and survival of colorectal cancer.
