Dr. Figueredo was born and raised in Pennsylvania on a working farm with her five siblings. She completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. She moved to the Dominican Republic following college to study Medicine at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, where she also became fluent in Spanish.
Upon graduation, she returned to the United States and completed a 5 year General Surgery program at Lankenau Hospital. During this time she was introduced to breast surgery. It immediately became her passion because of the longstanding relationships built with patients and their families, and the research and continued developments being made in the field. She then completed a year long Fellowship in Breast Surgery at the Women and Infants’ Hospital/Brown University in Providence, RI. Afterwards, she practiced Breast Surgery in Voorhees, New Jersey at Virtua Hospital for 9 years.
Dr. Figueredo is board certified in General Surgery with a specialization in Breast Surgery. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She has been voted Tampa Magazine’s Top Doc for the last 3 years and has appeared as a guest on several TV interviews.
Dr. Figueredo specializes in the treatment of both benign and malignant disease of the breast, and offers high risk screening and genetic counseling/testing in the office. She is very interested in whole person, patient-centric, compassionate care. She feels it is important to educate and empower patients so they may take charge of their health in order to prevent chronic disease.
When not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, learning to cook and exercising.
