Dr. Michael Hwang is a board-certified and fellowship-trained diagnostic radiologist. He specializes in breast imaging and employs a variety of techniques to detect cancer and other conditions affecting the breasts. His expertise includes multi-modality breast biopsies and aspirations, multi-modality preoperative localization, mammograms with digital breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography.
Dr. Hwang earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Nova Southeastern University in Miami, where he served as co-chief resident. He then pursued a breast imaging fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He is certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology and is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging.
