Dr. Liviu Craciun is a board-certified neurologist, bringing extensive clinical and research expertise in conditions affecting the nervous system, including epilepsy, stroke, and neurointensive care.
Dr. Craciun received his medical training at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania and earned his PhD in neuroscience from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, focusing on ionic channels related to epilepsy and peripheral neuropathies. He completed his residency in neurology at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, followed by a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland, where he studied rare variants of motor neuron disease.
Board-certified in neurology with subspecialty certifications in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Craciun is also an accomplished researcher, having published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. His professional affiliations include the American Epilepsy Society, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy of Neurology.
