About Leonard Cortelli, Jr., MD
Leonard E. Cortelli, Jr., MD is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Cortelli joined Florida Eye Center as a comprehensive ophthalmologist in 1992.
While providing office-based care for a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, Dr. Cortelli has specialized in cataract surgery and lens implantation for the last 28 years. He has extensive experience in cataract surgery and lens implantation, including AcrySof IQ® intraocular lens, AcrySof ReSTOR® intraocular lens, and AcrySof Toric® intraocular lens. He is excited to provide the most recent innovation in cataract surgery – Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery.
Dr. Cortelli provides complete personalized care of the cataract surgery patient including the preoperative assessment, the cataract surgery itself, and all care necessary throughout the postoperative period. Dr. Cortelli has been recognized by his peers as Best Doctors in America® for consecutive years from 2003-2014, and 2019-2020.
