Michol Cooper, MD, PhD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University at age 17 before completing both a Master of Science and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. During her doctoral training, her research team was among the pioneers in developing high-intensity focused ultrasound as a treatment for soft tissue tumors. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, completed her general surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and pursued advanced fellowship training in vascular surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Cooper provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions, including aortic dissections, complex open and endovascular aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease, chronic mesenteric ischemia, venous disease, and dialysis access needs. She has extensive expertise in both traditional open surgery and minimally invasive endovascular techniques, allowing her to tailor treatment plans to each patient’s unique needs. She is board certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cooper is an adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida. She is actively involved in clinical research focusing on aortic dissections, surgical education, and advancing innovations in vascular surgery. Dr. Cooper is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care, ensuring that patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options while partnering with them to achieve the best possible outcomes.
