Dr. David Barlas is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate Health Science Center at Brooklyn, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Stony Brook.
Dr. Barlas brings extensive leadership and academic experience to patient care, having served as Chief of Service at NYU Langone Health’s Cobble Hill Emergency Department and as Associate Chairman and Residency Director at New York Hospital Queens. He has held faculty appointments as Clinical Associate Professor at NYU School of Medicine and Assistant Professor at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. A dedicated educator and researcher, Dr. Barlas serves as Associate Editor for the Annals of Emergency Medicine and has been recognized as a “Top Peer Reviewer” for 15 consecutive years.
