Dr. Joshua Milby is an orthopedic traumatologist at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. His specialties include:
- Minimally invasive and open surgery for pelvis and acetabulum fractures
- Management of severely injured polytraumatized patients
- Nonunion and malunion surgery
- Complex elbow surgery
Dr. Milby has more than a decade of experience in orthopedic trauma care.
Dr. Milby’s Training
Dr. Milby earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural leadership and development at Texas A&M University in College Station and received his osteopathic medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Pinnacle in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and an orthopedic traumatology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
About Dr. Milby
Dr. Milby serves as an active lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve Medical Corps based at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command in Jacksonville, Florida.
Since 2020, he has been an assistant professor of clinical orthopedics at the University of Missouri in Springfield teaching orthopedic surgical residents and orthopedic traumatology fellows at a busy Level 1 trauma center. He is also an advanced trauma life support instructor. His volunteer work includes mentoring medical and pre-med students.
His professional memberships include the Orthopedic Trauma Association, AO Trauma North America, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association and Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Milby’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, fishing, running, hiking and traveling.
