Asthma Treatment

Understanding asthma triggers & treatment.

We believe in individualized asthma treatments. Because if youā€™ve ever experienced chest pain, shortness of breath, or chronic coughing episodes, you know how important it is to have a reliable asthma treatment plan specific to your needs.

Florida Medical Clinic works hard to find the right treatment to provide relief when you need it. We treat all types of asthma, including:

  • Allergic asthma
  • Cough-variant asthma
  • Exercise-induced asthma
  • Nighttime asthma
  • Occupational asthma
  • Immediate care for those experiencing non-life-threatening asthma attacks

We understand that treating asthma is often an ongoing process. As such, we strive to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with our patients. Our job doesnā€™t end once a patientā€™s asthma is initially controlled. We help patients update and adjust their treatment plans as needed, with the ultimate goal of reducing medication dependence.

To schedule an appointment with one of our Allergy, Asthma & Immunology specialists, contact Florida Medical Clinic today. We provide asthma treatment at a number of convenient locations, and most major insurance plans are accepted.

Bronchodilator Medications

Your doctor may prescribe bronchodilator medications to make breathing easier by relaxing the muscles in the lungs and opening up the airways.

Controller Inhalers

Corticosteroid medications that gradually reduce inflammation and swelling of the airways over time. These inhalers are used to provide long-term control, not quick relief of asthma symptoms.

Oxygen Therapy

This type of therapy is used to deliver extra oxygen from a face mask or tubes resting in your nose or windpipe. This is beneficial for people with conditions that prevent them from getting enough oxygen.

Rescue Inhalers

Short-acting, quick-relief portable device used to open the airways during sudden asthma attacks, wheezing or coughing. Rescue inhalers may also be used before physical activity to prevent exercise-induced asthma.

Smoking Cessation Program

Smoking has many negative effects on allergy and asthma symptoms. We provide support services to help patients who are ready to quit smoking.
