Dr. Gaskins specializes in hand surgery and the treatment of the musculoskeletal system through a variety of surgical and non-surgical techniques.  Dr. Gaskins treats patients of all ages from athletic injuries to chronic arthritis.  His team follows an individualized approach in order to get you back to “Your Life.”  Our goal is to maximize your function and minimize your pain.

Dr. Gaskins is born and raised in Florida.  He received his medical doctorate from the University of Florida where he graduated with Honors and then went on to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Gaskins completed his Upper Extremity Fellowship at Wake Forest University.  He specializes in minimally invasive and contemporary open surgeries of the upper extremity, from the fingertip to the shoulder.  Dr. Gaskins provides arthroscopic, joint preserving, and joint replacement options for his patients.  He will customize a treatment plan for you, whether conservative or surgical, in order to give you the best possible care.

Dr. Gaskins has published multiple manuscripts in orthopedic journals, book chapters, and his research has been presented internationally.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golf, and Tampa Bay sports.

Dr Gaskins was recommended to me by another surgeon. I had a carpal tunnel procedure done. Everything went smoothly pre and post-op. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My fingers feel ok but I still have some tingling in my thumb. It has only been 4 weeks post-op

Not a single thing negative thing about this appointment. Everyone was very professional and showed that they cared. After leaving other medical providers, I can feel confused and with more questions. This was not the case with Dr. Gaskins and the staff. They were informative, answered all questions (without irritation), and ensured I was provided everything I needed. Hopefully I do not break anymore bones, but if I do, this is where I will definitely return to.

"I couldn’t ask for a nicer doctor"

Dr Gaskins did surgery to repair my fractured radius. At my initial consultation, he thoroughly explained the x-ray findings and reviewed my options, which included getting a steel plate for the best possible long-term outcome. I’ve also had follow up visits and x-rays. I appreciate his non-rushed, thorough approach and his bedside manner. I couldn’t ask for a nicer doctor to put me at ease through my ordeal. He also called me the day after surgery to check on me. The entire office staff from front desk to those seeing me at my appointments (Joe and Brittany) are so caring and nice.
