FLORIDA MEDICAL CLINIC FOUNDATION OF CARING AT WORK IN THE COMMUNITY
ZEPHYRHILLS, FL- An organization with a strong mission to improve the
quality of life of those in need is proud to say that 2005 was an
extremely successful first year. While the Foundation of Caring
contributed more than $50,000 in its first year of operation, it was
also instrumental in gathering clothes and school supplies for 25
children at the Lacoochee Boys and Girls Club, collecting old cell
phones to donate to Sunrise of Pasco County, helping build a Habitat for
Humanity home for FMC employee, Nicki Craig and her family, and helping
organizations further research for causes such as heart disease,
diabetes, and breast cancer.
The list doesn’t end there. The Foundation of Caring helped Gulf Coast
North AHEC kick off their first annual Belles and Boots Bash fundraiser
with a generous contribution as well as assisting Zephyrhills Fire
Rescue to provide the community with an Advanced Life Support service,
which allows them to arrive ahead of Pasco County’s ambulance and
initiate ALS procedures until more assistance arrives.
The support that Florida Medical Clinic Foundation of Caring provides
for the community will not only continue in 2006 but expands vastly.
Plans include projects for Hillsborough and Pasco County families in
substandard housing, abused women and children, the aged, Alzheimers
sufferers, scholarships for disabled and non-disabled students, cancer
victims, and the neediest of our neighbors. “We can accomplish far more
together than we ever could as individuals,” states Sheri Schwab,
President of the Foundation of Caring.
