About “Trey” Gerald Alexander, III, MD
Dr. G. E. Alexander, III (“Trey”) is a fifth generation Tampa native. After graduating H.B Plant High School, he attended the University of Florida, where he earned a degree in Exercise and Sports Medicine. After moving back home, he went on to earn a second degree at the University of South Florida in Biomedical Sciences and attended USF for Medical School. His orthopedic surgery residency training was completed at the University of South Florida at Tampa General Hospital.
Following residency training, Dr. Alexander completed an optional year of fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio. His expertise includes hip and knee replacement for arthritis, as well as revision and treatment of painful or failed hip and knee replacements. Dr. Alexander enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Jana, and two daughters.
