National Provider Identifiers
According to 45 CFR Part 162.410:
“A covered health care provider must disclose its NPI, when requested,
to any entity that needs the NPI to identify that health care provider
in a standard transaction”.
According to the Federal Register/Volume 69, No. 15 (Friday, January 23,
2004) page 3449:
“The NPI may also be used for any other lawful purpose requiring the
unique identification of a health care provider. It may not be used in
any activity otherwise prohibited by law.”
As such, we are posting our physicians’ and providers’ NPI numbers on
our web site for access by other entities that need these NPI numbers to
identify Florida Medical Clinic providers in a standard transaction.
